Using the Canvia mobile app
Log in & password reset
Open the Canvia app and select Log in. Enter your username and password.
Note: if you've forgotten your password, you can reset it here.
Add playlists & artworks to your Canvia
1. On the Home screen you will see buttons for Personal Playlists and Favourite Playlists.
These collections of playlists enable you to access and display artworks directly from the Canvia app.
Note: You will need to set up Personal and Favourite playlists via your web account before you can access them in the app - see instructions below.
Click on Personal Playlists or Favourite Playlists.
2. You will see available playlists on the next screen.
Click on the desired playlist to review the available artworks and then select the artwork you'd like to display.
3. Click once on the red magnifying glass icon on the bottom right to enable zoom.
Note: zoom will work only when the display mode is set to "Normal" - see Settings section below.
Use two fingers to zoom in/out and reposition the image within the app. Click the red icon again to fix or lock the new zoom/position of the image. Canvia will remember this new locked image for future display of the image (if in 'Normal' display mode)
Swipe left or right to move to the next/previous artworks in the selected playlist.
Click on the arrow in the top left to return to the available artworks, or select the image icon on the top right to return to the Home screen.
Upload your own images to your Canvia
1. Click on the cloud icon in the top right corner of the Home screen
2. Choose from an image saved to your phone or select the camera icon in the top right corner to take a new photo
Note: you will need to give the Canvia app permission to access your photos.
3. You can edit the image on the next screen. Select Crop, Rotate or Scale from the bottom menu.
Crop allows you to crop to specific aspect ratios.
Rotate allows you to rotate the image. Use the slider to rotate clockwise or counterclockwise.
Scale allows you to crop to specific aspect ratios. Use the slider to scale up or down.
When ready, select the Tick icon in the top right corner and then 'upload' on the next screen. The uploaded image will appear on your Canvia in a few seconds.
Adjust your Canvia's settings
1. Click on the menu icon in the top left corner of the Home screen and then select Settings.
On the Settings screen, you can make various adjustments to your Canvia's display settings.
2. Wi-Fi indicates the Wi-Fi network that your phone is currently connected to. This must match the Wi-Fi network on which you first registered your Canvia.
Brightness control allows you to manually adjust the brightness of Canvia's display.
Deselect the 'A' icon to the right of the slider to enable manual display adjustment. Slide to the right to increase display brightness or to the left to decrease.
Select 'A' to enable automatic display adjustment.
Note: in automatic mode, if display of the image does not match the natural color you expect, use manual mode as described above and adjust the Brightness, Equalization & ArtSense sliders accordingly.
Status indicates whether your Canvia's display is off (Sleep) or on (Awake). Toggle between these options to turn off or on.
Note: in the latest iOS app release, Sleep and Awake modes are in reverse - this will be corrected in the next release. The Android mobile app has no such issue.
Orientation indicates whether your Canvia is displaying in the Portrait or Landscape orientations. Toggle between these options to change orientation.
'Artwork captions' indicates whether captions appear for displayed artworks on your Canvia: no captions (None), partial captions (Partial) or full captions (Full). Toggle between these options to change caption type.
ArtSense & Equalization allow you to manually adjust Canvia's ArtSense and Equalization settings. These determine how Canvia interprets local visual conditions and adjusts its display accordingly.
Recommended display settings
We recommend using manual display adjustment as this works for a wider range of lighting conditions (to enable manual mode, see steps above):
Playback Duration determines how frequently artworks are changed within a playlist or queue.
Select from the unit options and then use the slider to increase or decrease the time interval.
Display Mode determines how the displayed image fits to Canvia's screen.
'Normal' displays the image fully (note: depending on image aspect ratio, pillar- or letter-boxing might occur). The zoom function works only in this 'Normal' mode.
'Pan/Scan' expands the image to fill Canvia's screen whatever the original aspect ratio (note: depending on image aspect ratio, this might obscure some sections of the image)
'Pan/Scan with Animation' adds a gradual movement to the Pan/Scan setting to reveal any obscured sections of the image.
Wi-Fi mode allows you to revert your device to 'AP mode'. You should only do this if you want to move your Canvia to a new Wi-Fi network.
If your device is reverted to AP mode, follow from step 4 on this page: I'm setting up my Canvia for the first time
